  2. I have just painted my house med gray with white trim and a navy blue door. I will use yellow and white flowers. Question: I have a beautiful old deacon's bench that i want to paint with a deep crimson red.What do you think about using red with the other colors?

  3. Red and blue are common together in anything from shells to flowers and birds. Nature colour combinations tend to look very well in architecture too. Few small details in deep/ diluted blue or red around your house should tie up all scheme together. Here are few things you might consider:

    - Mailbox, street number, entry gate;
    - Garden pavers or gravel pass. “Cracker dust” gravel often have blue undertone. There also are some terracotta red gravels.
    - Porch floor - painted or tiles. Use shade only e.g bluish grey;
    - Plant pots, or plants with blue or red flowers or foliage;
    - Stained glass with blue and red! If real thing is too expensive/complicated – check these textured “stained glass” film: http://www.maclinstudio.com/wrigstaingla.html;

    P.S.
    How great that you consider colours of your landscape in overall scheme! Not many people think about!

  4. Front doors represent the house's "face". Choosing the right color will have a big impact for visitors and passersby. I personally like green, because it has a refreshing feel that makes my mood bright, the color red is also not a bad idea.

  6. I absolutely adore the brown door in the second photograph! The combination of the brown door and the light brown walls is perfect. It is also the only door with the glass arc detail above it -- I love it!
